Since 2022, Rachael's Culinary Arts has been the backbone of professional chef development across Nigeria. We recruit, rigorously train, and strategically place culinary talent in kitchens where they can truly thrive.
"We didn't just want to fill kitchen vacancies. We wanted to build a generation of chefs who would carry the pride and soul of Nigerian and Continental cuisine onto the world's finest dining tables."
Chef Tayo Pinheiro, Founder & Executive DirectorRachael's Culinary Arts was founded in 2022 by Chef Tayo Pinheiro, a trained culinary professional who saw a glaring gap in Nigeria's hospitality landscape talented cooks with no structured pathway to professional kitchens. Her answer was to build an institution that would serve both sides of that equation.
Three pillars that guide every decision we make, every chef we train, and every kitchen we serve.
We recruit, train, and place exceptional chefs by providing structured professional development pathways ensuring every chef who passes through Rachael's Culinary Arts is equipped not just with technical skills, but with the discipline, etiquette, and mindset required to thrive in any kitchen environment in the world.
We envision a future where Nigerian-trained chefs are represented in the finest kitchens on every continent where Jollof, Egusi, and Suya are as celebrated as Bouillabaisse, Sushi, and Pasta. We are building that future, one chef at a time, from the heart of Lagos.
We do not simply place chefs and walk away. Our purpose is to support every aspect of a culinary career from first assessment and training, through to post-placement monitoring, ongoing development. Our chefs are our legacy.
We believe world-class chefs are not simply born they are shaped through structured support, rigorous standards, and an environment that demands and rewards excellence at every level.
We don't just post listings and wait. Our talent scouts actively seek promising culinary talent through competitions, vocational institutions, referrals, and community outreach. Every candidate undergoes a structured assessment covering technical skill, kitchen discipline, communication, and cultural fit before entering our programme.
Our training programmes go far beyond cooking technique. Every chef trained through Rachael's Culinary Arts receives instruction in professional kitchen etiquette, Kitchen Fundamentals and Hygiene in Kitchen, menu costing, nutrition, food presentation, and cross-cultural kitchen dynamics preparing them for any professional environment, local or continental.
We treat every placement as a long-term relationship, not a one-time transaction. We take time to understand the culture, menu style, team dynamics, and unique demands of each client kitchen and then match accordingly. This is why 98% of our client organisations renew their contracts with us.
Our relationship with both chef and client continues long after placement day. We conduct monthly check-ins, quarterly performance reviews, and are available as mediators should any challenges arise. We also run continuous professional development modules for placed chefs to ensure their growth never plateaus.
Every curriculum is designed to produce chefs who are technically brilliant, professionally composed, and ready for any kitchen in the world.
Our most comprehensive programme. Designed for serious culinary professionals, this course covers advanced cooking technique, kitchen brigade management, menu development, food costing, supplier relations, and the business of running a profitable kitchen. Graduates leave as complete culinary professionals ready to lead any kitchen they enter.
Kitchen discipline, chef communication, hierarchy and brigade etiquette, dress codes, client interaction, and the behavioural standards expected in Nigeria's top hospitality environments.
French classics, Italian pasta and risotto, Asian wok techniques, continental plating styles, and the art of developing intelligent fusion menus that honour Nigerian ingredients while speaking a continental culinary language.
The principles that shape every training session, every placement, and every relationship we build with chefs, clients, and our community.
We hold our chefs and ourselves to an uncompromising standard of quality. From the first assessment to post-placement review, every touchpoint is an opportunity to demonstrate that Nigerian culinary professionals deserve a place among the very best in the world. Mediocrity is not an option we entertain.
We are unapologetically Nigerian. We celebrate our food heritage the warmth of Egusi, the fire of Suya, the depth of Ofe Nsala while equipping our chefs to speak every culinary language fluently. Our chefs carry Nigerian pride into every kitchen they enter, and the world is better for it.
We never misrepresent a chef's skills, and we never oversell a client's environment. Honest, transparent communication is the foundation of every relationship we build. When we make a placement, both chef and client know exactly what to expect and we hold ourselves accountable to those expectations.
The hospitality industry never stands still, and neither do we. We continuously update our training curricula, invest in our instructors, forge new employer partnerships, and push our chefs to keep developing. A chef who stops learning stops growing and we never let that happen on our watch.
Our chefs are not just employees on a register they are part of a community. Through our annual Chef Summit, mentorship pairing programme, and alumni network, we foster the kind of peer connection and senior guidance that accelerates careers and sustains motivation through the toughest kitchen days.
Seasoned culinary professionals, hospitality veterans, and business operators united by a shared passion for Nigerian food and chef development.
