1️⃣ Definitions & Parties
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
- "Rachael's Culinary Arts" refers to Rachael's Culinary Arts Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria, operating from VGC, Lekki-Epe Expresssway, Lagos, Nigeria..
- "Client" refers to the individual or organisation submitting a booking request for private chef services.
- "Chef" refers to the culinary professional matched and deployed by Rachael's Culinary Arts on behalf of the Client.
- "Engagement" refers to the agreed period of chef service as defined in the booking confirmation.
- "Service" refers to the private chef experience, including menu planning, grocery coordination, in-home cooking, and kitchen clean-up.
By submitting a booking request, the Client confirms they are at least 18 years of age, have legal authority to enter into this agreement, and agree to be bound by these terms in full.
2️⃣ Booking Process & Confirmation
2.1 Submission of the booking form constitutes a formal enquiry, not a confirmed booking.
2.2 A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of written confirmation from Rachael's Culinary Arts and payment of the applicable deposit (where required).
2.3 Rachael's Culinary Arts reserves the right to decline any booking request at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide reasons.
2.4 The Client will be contacted within 24 working hours of form submission to discuss availability, chef matching, and pricing.
Confirmed bookings are subject to chef availability. While we maintain a large roster of professionals, Rachael's Culinary Arts cannot guarantee the availability of a specific named chef.
3️⃣ Fees, Payment & Deposit
3.1 All pricing is agreed in writing at the time of booking confirmation. Rachael's Culinary Arts's quoted fees include the chef's professional service fee and agency placement/management fee.
3.2 Grocery and ingredient costs are separate from the service fee and will be agreed upon during the pre-engagement consultation, unless otherwise included in a specific package.
3.3 Rachael's Culinary Arts reserves the right to suspend or cancel a booking where payment has not been received by the agreed deadline.
3.4 You are to pay 50,000 for the contract form and to pay service charge of 10% of chefs annual income upfront.
3.5 Please note that salaries may be subject to review during the service period due to economic realities, changes in scope of work, or compassionate and mutually agreed circumstances.
⚠️ All payments are to be made directly to Rachael's Culinary Arts Ltd's verified bank account. Rachael's Culinary Arts will never request cash payments through a third party. Please verify all payment details directly with our team.
4️⃣ Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
4.1 Client-initiated cancellations must be made in writing (email or WhatsApp) and are subject to the following:
- More than 7 days before engagement: Full refund of deposit, minus a ₦5,000 administrative fee.
- 4–7 days before engagement: 50% of deposit is refundable.
- Less than 72 hours before engagement: No refund. 100% of deposit is forfeited.
- No-show or cancellation on the day: Full service fee is payable.
4.2 Rescheduling is permitted at no additional charge if requested more than 72 hours in advance, subject to chef availability.
4.3 In the rare event Rachael's Culinary Arts must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (chef illness, force majeure, etc.), a full refund will be issued or an alternative chef offered at no extra cost.
5️⃣ Client Responsibilities & Code of Conduct
5.1 The Client must provide the chef with a safe, clean, and functional kitchen environment with adequate access to water, power, cooking equipment, and workspace.
5.2 The Client must disclose all known food allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions prior to the engagement. Rachael's Culinary Arts and the chef cannot be held liable for allergic reactions arising from information not disclosed at the time of booking.
5.3 The Client agrees to treat all Rachael's Culinary Arts chefs with respect and dignity. Any form of harassment, verbal abuse, or misconduct will result in the immediate termination of the engagement without refund.
5.4 The Client shall not attempt to negotiate, re-employ, or hire the chef independently outside of the Rachael's Culinary Arts framework for a period of 12 months following the engagement, without written consent from Rachael's Culinary Arts.
⚠️ Attempting to directly engage a Rachael's Culinary Arts chef without written consent constitutes a breach of this agreement and may result in legal action for loss of agency fees.
6️⃣ Chef Standards, Conduct & Liability
6.1 All chefs placed by Rachael's Culinary Arts have undergone professional culinary training, Kitchen Etiquette certification, identity verification, and character vetting. Full details are available on request.
6.2 Rachael's Culinary Arts acts as an agency and placement intermediary. Chefs placed as independent contractors remain responsible for their professional conduct during the engagement.
6.3 Rachael's Culinary Arts maintains oversight of all placed chefs and acts as the primary point of escalation for any concerns, complaints, or disputes.
6.4 Rachael's Culinary Arts accepts no liability for loss or damage to property caused by negligence on the part of the Client, or by events outside the agency's reasonable control.
6.5 In the event of a complaint regarding food quality or chef conduct, the Client must notify Rachael's Culinary Arts within 24 hours. Claims made after this period may not be considered.
7️⃣ Privacy, Data & Confidentiality
7.1 Personal data submitted via the booking form will be processed in accordance with Rachael's Culinary Arts's Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR).
7.2 Client information will not be shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to facilitate the booking and delivery of the service.
7.3 Chefs and Rachael's Culinary Arts staff are bound by confidentiality obligations and shall not disclose information about the Client's household, lifestyle, dietary habits, or personal affairs to any third party.
8️⃣ Photography & Testimonials
8.1 Rachael's Culinary Arts may request permission to photograph meals or culinary outcomes for marketing purposes. No photography of Clients, household members, or private property will be conducted without explicit written consent.
8.2 Clients who provide testimonials or reviews agree that these may be shared (with appropriate attribution or anonymously, as agreed) on Rachael's Culinary Arts's platforms.
9️⃣ Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
9.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
9.2 In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct negotiation. If unresolved within 14 days, the matter shall be referred to mediation before any formal legal proceedings are initiated.
9.3 The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, shall have jurisdiction over any unresolved disputes arising from these terms.

10.1 Rachael's Culinary Arts reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The current version is always available on our website and upon request.
10.2 Continued use of our services after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
